Product description: Black Elk were the original species of elk in South Dakota. We used George Washington’s mash bill recipe to produce this whiskey. We started by smoking our legacy dark German rye with mesquite, then we aged the whiskey in #4 heavily charred barrels, yielding a rich and smokey spirit. A complex, yet wonderfully balanced whiskey.

TASTING NOTES: spicy, with distinct notes of rye, black pepper and mesquite. Long spicy finish, with hints of smoke.
